Frequently asked questions
How big should a parasol be for my table?
As a rule, the canopy should overhang the table by about 0.5 m on every side so chairs sit in shade. For a 2.0 m round table, choose a canopy of at least 3.0 m.
Should the parasol be bigger than the table?
Yes. Allow roughly 0.5 m of shade beyond the table edge on each side. A parasol the same size as the table leaves seats in full sun.
Which parasol type suits windy or coastal sites?
For wind and salt air, choose a large-commercial or cantilever model with marine-grade aluminium, rated up to Beaufort 9. Always secure the canopy in storms.
